The Midlands Arts Centre (MAC), is a strategic partner of Youth Music and a member of Youth Music’s Alliance for a Musically Inclusive England (AMIE), working towards musical inclusion, so every child and young person can access music-making opportunities, regardless of their circumstances.

Through the MAC Makes Music programme, we champion innovation in music making approaches, support workforce development and advocate for equality in music education in partnership with Music Education Hubs such as Coventry Music.

We have a team of dedicated and talented Music Leaders who deliver music sessions based on band development and ensemble work to engage children and young people with SEND (special educational needs and/or disabilities) and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs). We also provide training and mentoring opportunities for emerging music leaders to observe sessions and develop their experience of working within settings such as: special schools and pupil referral units.
