A Magical Mystery Tour at the Big Sing 2018

Published: Monday, 26 March 2018

This year's Big Sing, the highlight of the Mornings of Music Events, went down a storm with the pupils!

What a day! Two shows, over 800 students, a packed Albany Theatre, fantastic singing, a live band and a magical mystery tour!

Students from across Coventry came together on Friday 23rd March to celebrate the end of two weeks of amazing singing events in schools. They were treated to a spectacular show, with a live band, and lots of fun and singing. The children were taken on a magical mystery tour of the UK, stopping at lots of different times and places to sing British themed songs, specially commissioned for this years events by Robert Ramsgill. They met the Beatles, Oasis, Strictly stars, got stranded on the top of Blackpool tower, had to swim across a river and pretend to be waxworks at Madam Tussauds! They sung songs they knew and learnt some new ones too!!

There were smiles all round, and the pupils were a credit to their schools, both in behaviour and in fantastic singing! A big thanks has to go to the teachers for doing such a good job teaching the students all the songs, to the talented live band and the hosts for the day; the friendly bus driver - Jonathon Wakefield and singer - Michelle Heritage.

2018 proved to be a great year for the Mornings of Music, we can't wait to see what 2019 will bring!!!! If you didn't get involved this year, then make sure you sign up next year!!
