mornings of music event

Schools across Coventry have been getting together to enjoy mornings of music thanks to Coventry Music...

Last week and this week has seen lots of Mornings of Music taking place across the city. Several schools kindly accepted to host events and invited other schools to join them in a celebration of British Music. This years theme was Best of British! - From Music Hall to Madness: A Brief History of British Pop, and the events featured a fantastic set of songs, specially commissioned for the children of Coventry, professionally recorded CD of songs and backing tracks, with the option to play instrumental parts and even make their own props and instruments for the event. Schools really went to town decorating their schools with British themes and flags and the children enjoyed making everything from percussion instruments to crowns and hats. The singing was loud and energetic and a credit to all the schools involved. This is such a fantastic event which brings schools together to share a real love of music.

The event comes to an end this week, with a fantastic opportunity for schools to perform the songs together at the Albany Theatre as part of the Big Sing.

If you loved the event then don't forget to sign up again next year. If you missed out on all the fun this year then make sure you don't next year. It's an annual event not to be missed! Contact to find out more about how to get involved next year!
