Coventry Music groups finally get the chance to meet face-to-face and delight passers by with unexpected music!

Some of our groups who have been regularly meeting online throughout the pandemic, have had the chance to finally meet again for face-to-face rehearsals these last few weeks. It has been fantastic to see everyone again and make some live music together. Our fretworks guitar group, Live on Stage Bands and our String Orchestra have been making some beautiful music, rehearsing at the Tin Music and Arts at the Canal Basin, delighting passers-by with unexpected music. We have had some really lovely comments from the general public. We really can't wait till we can start all our group again in September and maybe also some exciting new projects. Watch this space for news of what is coming in September.

The string ensemble are so happy to be meeting live again, after 15 months of online rehearsals. It has been great to see everyone and for us all to play together instead of taking it in turns on Microsoft Teams! We’ve put together some of the repertoire that we recorded when working online, and we’re looking forward to starting some new music too. From September, we’ll be rehearsing on Tuesdays at the refurbished Drapers’ Hall, next to the Cathedral ruins; if you play a bowed string instrument at grades 2-6 level please get in touch if you would like to join the group, we’re always looking for new members.
