Here is an update from the Coventry Music String orchestra on what they have been doing during the Spring Term - including a fantastic virtual playing of Ignatius Sancho's Minuets.

The String Ensemble online project for the Spring term in 2021 was to research the 18th century musician Ignatius Sancho, and to play and record an arrangement of his minuets.

We were inspired to find some non-white composers for our ensemble, having heard some of the NYO 'Mighty River' project and also having found out about some diverse classical composers via Elizabeth de Brito's 'Daffodil Perspective' podcast.

Here is our recording of Ignatius Sancho's Minuets.

We are looking forward to an exciting summer term as we slowly return to live ensemble playing, and begin an online partnership with the West Coast Youth Orchestra in South Africa!
