String Ensemble 'encore' for the end of term

As an encore to our 'virtual' performance this term, the String Ensemble performed an arrangement of Janacek's 'Music for Club-Swinging Exercises'.

Cutting down from the full string orchestra to a chamber group, players again met online to rehearse together and recorded themselves playing. This was one of the pieces we had planned to include in our April concert and lots of the players wanted to carry on with it. This was a lovely way to finish a challenging term, but we are all looking forward to being able to play together live again as soon as possible. If you are aged 9+ and playing violin, viola, cello or double bass at around grade 2-6 standard, you can apply to join the string orchestra for next year here. Well done to all the players who have taken part this year, you've made brilliant progress as an ensemble, despite the challenges of a term online! Listen to their new recording at the bottom of the page here.
