Our fantastic early years resources are now live and ready to download...

Coventry Music in partnership with Funky Feet Music have developed a FREE music resource that we are delighted to share with Early Years providers in Coventry.

This resource is now available to download for free to all Coventry Early Years Practitioners. You should have received a password to access this from the council if you are already a registered provider. If not then contact Leanne.Phelps@coventry.gov.uk or Kim.West@coventry.gov.uk.)

Click here to download the resource. (music will play when you have downloaded the resource and click on the speaker icon on each track)

Please email music@coventry.gov.uk if you have any problems accessing this digitally.

If you require a hard copy (CD and information cards) please let us know and we will endeavour to get these to you, ‚Äčas and when it is safe to do so. Hard copies are limited so will be available on a first come, first served basis.

This exclusive package of songs and supporting documents:

  •  places emphasis on the link between music making and physical development and the subsequent effect on child development.
  • provides a broad range of songs and musical games that support language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • follows the same format as the Development Matters framework
  • provides opportunities for observation and assessment and gives suggestions for extension activities
  • provides creative opportunities

Coventry Music will also be offering a training and development event during Spring Term 2021 - a chance to share your experiences of using this resource and to meet Kim Pott from Funky Feet Music who will come along and explain how the cross-over between music and movement is linked to school readiness. Watch this space for details of this session.
