At 5pm (UK) on 29 May, we are inviting you to join the NYO to take part in a huge performance of 'Jupiter' from Holst's The Planets, playing live altogether at the same time.

If we were able to hear as we looked down on the earth from space, we would be blown away by the diversity and richness of our incredible musical planet. And as we zoom in closer, we know this planet is powered by all the billions of musical citizens, creating music that lights up their local community, before radiating outwards to create musical towns, musical cities, and musical communities that transcend borders.

That’s why we are passionate about igniting the relationships every musician can make close to home, and creating the local connections that make up our musical planet.

At 5pm (UK) on 29 May, we are inviting you to join NYO to take part in a huge performance of 'Jupiter' from Holst's The Planets, playing live altogether at the same time, from our local communities; celebrating the power of music to connect us across any distance and beyond our own four walls.

You can play instruments, sing or re-mix Jupiter, all the information is below.

We'd love you to film your performance, or release your remix, and share it with everyone using the hashtag #NYOMusicalPlanet, it’s a wonderful way to experience the creativity of others.

NYO musicians have created the tools you need to take part - whether you play an instrument, sing or make music digitally:

· Play a solo performance by downloading the parts, sharing a window into your world live at 5pm on 29 May (UK time)- you can do this from your doorstep, or further afield if it's safe to do so, in a performance that shows the spirit of your local area

· Perform with others, make a street orchestra - at a distance! - by downloading parts in our five part arrangement, and play live at 5pm (UK) on 29 May

· Sing our new version of Jupiter, the 'Song of the Planet' live at 5pm on 29 May with lyrics written by poet Probably Tomfoolery [Link to his website http://www.probablytomfoolery.com/]. The lyrics will be released on Instagram live on Thursday 21 May, with downloadable music.

· Remix the MP3s sounds from Jupiter played by our teenage musicians: you can do this on any device, using any music production software, and share your creation at 5:00pm on 29 May.
