Coventry Music took over the Paradise Tent for a second year for the 2019 Godiva Festival

As well as stellar performances from Godiva Calling U18 winners Easy Company and Mylo Law, Project Overload (Products of Coventry Music/Tin Music and Arts ‘Live On Stage project’) supplied a mixture of new and old rock and pop classics.

The stage was opened with a hands on Samba session led by partners Media Mania before the first public outing of ‘Sonic Inovations’ - SoundLab-Cov’s Post 16 group.

Later on, the Main SoundLab-Cov band performed with a new take on some classics and some new arrangements crafted by the students who attend the creative music centre on Saturdays during term time.

Sing! the half term singing group led by Coventry Music's Vicky Clayton and Claire Tyler wowed audiences as we moved towards the end of the day with amazing singing backed by a fantastic band.

We also showcased once again the wonderful Coventry Teachers choir, resplendent in mock School uniform.  The choir rehearses three times per term, leading to a performance, and is open to all Coventry teachers, support staff, retired teachers and trainees. For more information about joining, email coventryteacherschoir@gmail.com

The stage was closed by the always fantastic Coventry Jazz Orchestra who played a variety of jazz classics and some Latin grooves and pulled in good crowd.

Thanks to all the participants and also to the brilliant audiences supporting the young musicians throughout the day who danced, sang along and gave great support to all the performers.

 Here’s to 2020!
