This year's Mornings of Music event will be very different - it will be a celebration of music as part of this year's City of Culture celebrations.
New for 2022 is the Coventry Schools’ Culture Cantata with music composed by Kevin Stannard (Coventry Music Engagement Officer) and words written by Rebecca Thompson (St Mary’s the Mount School, Walsall).
Many of you will be used to participating in the “Morning of Music” projects, well this is the FREE replacement for this year with some special “Big Sing” style events planned for the summer term where we will be inviting schools to come and perform the songs with us with a live band and lots of other surprises!
The 10-song cantata is a magical, musical tour for young people living in Coventry today. Journey back through the ages and experience the war-time blitz; explore the city walls; meet Sir Frank Whittle and James Starley; recall the range of motor cars built here and celebrate the importance of Coventry’s industrial heritage before arriving in the times of the iconic Lady Godiva.
