Fantastic opportunity to get great value tickets to see the National Youth Orchestra and play alongside them!

On Friday 4 January the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain – the world’s greatest orchestra of teenagers – will be bringing a performance and a day of free events for young people to Warwick Arts Centre, and I strongly encourage you to be there!

Entitled State of Flux, the concert explores music inspired by human responses to a changing modern world. You’ll hear Rick Dior’s Science Fiction which is packed with percussive beats and bendy electronics and accompanies a film montage of classic movie scenes. You’ll also hear John Adams’ Doctor Atomic Symphony which captures the iconic events in the lead-up to the first test of the atomic bomb, and Sibelius’s awesome second symphony.

Come and Play

If you’re aged 13-19 and playing from grade 4-8+, you can sign up for a pre-concert workshop where you’ll play alongside musicians from NYO and develop your orchestral skills. The workshop takes place at Warwick Arts Centre, and places are FREE but must be reserved online via nyo.org.uk.
