opportunity for schools with Orchestra of the Swan
On Thursday 12rh October there will be an open rehearsal and Coventry schools are invited to attend
Orchestra of the Swan would like to invite schools and their students to attend an Orchestra of the Swan open rehearsal on Thursday 12th October 2023. The orchestra has two sessions on this day, 10:30-13:30 and 14:30-17:30, and schools are welcome to attend one or both of these sessions – we recommend around a 30–40-minute visit for Primary students.
The open rehearsal will be held in Warwick Hall at Warwick School, Myton Road, Warwick, CV34 6PP.
The orchestra will be rehearsing for their concert that evening, also in Warwick Hall, with conductor Michael Collins and solo guitarist Xuefei Yang, the programme will include:
· Stravinsky’s Concerto in Eb ‘Dumbarton Oaks’
· Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto
· Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony
Whilst there will be Orchestra of the Swan and Warwick Schools Foundation staff on site, students will need to be accompanied by staff from their school and remain under their care for the duration of the visit.
